It’s ok to be different, that is your charm. The middle Yakan tile is positioned differently for appeal. The flip side is festive with frayed Yakan edges. Yakan weaves are created by weavers in Zamboanga City using a backstop loom. The weaving process starts with stretching the fibers, loading the loom, creating the patterns and ends with knotting the edges of the Yakan tapestry. It takes a week to stretch the fibers and weave a meter.
