The Yakan Sinaluan pattern inspired by the resilient bamboo serves as a backdrop for the Yakan appliqué. The knotted edge appliqué shows the natural finish of a Yakan weave. The flip side is festive with frayed Yakan edges. Yakan weaves are created by weavers in Zamboanga City using a backstop loom. A full loom of 20 meters takes at least 3 months to complete.
